Patrick Llewelyn-Davies has been developing the Light Revolution lighting system for several years, it is under continual development and the possibilities are expanding all the time.
This technique produces lighting similar to using a Ring Flash, however it is much more versatile and produces many amazing effects as can be seen from the examples in the Light Revolution portfolio section of this website.

Light Revolution consists of a motorised lighting rig controlled by sophisticated electronics and has a vast range of variables that can be set depending on the subject and desired effect.
The subject can be bathed in a pool of soft light to give a virtually shadow less image as illustrated by the shot of the man's shoe or the rig adjusted to give a very low lit dramatic shot as in the photograph of the tool pen knife.

Subjects that work particularly well are metallic objects and textured items as can be seen in the examples of the Aston Martin manifold and the fish hook.
The Light Revolution effect can also be used to make a subject glow as in the shot of the Wedgwood plate and the Body Shop soap.
Light Revolution can be used to make a mundane object become a startling images as you can see in the moody shot of the gas mask.

If you think that this technique could suit a subject that you need to photograph please feel free to phone me to discuss the possibilities.
