Light Revolution

Patrick Llewelyn-Davies is a professional photographer working in central London with many years experience in both conventional and digital photography. He now shoots almost excusively in digital camera formats.

This website shows examples of the work of Patrick Llewelyn-Davies. He has photographed many different subjects ranging from hi-tec equipment in elaborate sets, to single objects shot very simply. Shooting a wide variety of subjects has allowed him to experiment extensively with many differing techniques and styles of photography.

The conventional photographic experience has given him the opportunity to learn how to judge the effects of different lighting and photographic techniques on both subject and film. Shooting special effects in camera by using multiple cameras and masking methods has given him the ability to develop problem-solving skills. The same principles can then be utilised when using contemporary software for producing special effects such as Adobe Photoshop.

Today the vast majority of Patrick's photography is shot on digital imaging cameras. He enjoys using this medium as it provides new challenges and has many advantages for both the photographer and client, as the photographic image is available almost instantly to view. This enables decisions as to the layout and lighting to be made straight away on what, after any post production work, will be the final image. The detail revealed in the digital image gives the opportunity to examine the subject for any problems before the final photograph is shot.

In experimenting with different ways of lighting subjects Patrick has created his own unique lighting system that is known as Light Revolution. The lighting system produces stunning images as can be seen from the examples on this website.
